Over the winter, I worked on a poetry special for MCTV! It was difficult to find time to get into the studio and edit, but I finally completed the project and I'm very excited about it! This special is a mix of poetry with nature footage. Hey, it's Michigan... so think: trees, deer, birds, water... oh, and snow! (Spoiler: Everyone just loves the dancing deer segment!)
"Late-Winter Walk Around the Pond," named for last year's winning poem, can be viewed HERE!
In a recap of 2018... My Roethke Contest winning poem appeared in Still Life and Writing @SVSU (Saginaw Valley State University). An essay ("Anatomy of a Rape Trial") and a poem appeared in Rain and Thunder; poetry appeared in Red Coyote (University of South Dakota) and in the anthology All the Universe Shining (Scurfpea Pubishing).
Look for poems of mine in Still Here (University of South Dakota/VLP) and in the anthology Reckless Writing (Chatter House Press); my chapter "Billie Jean King" in the book 100 Entertainers Who Changed America: An Encyclopedia of Pop Culture Stars and Their Stories (ABC-CLIO); and don't forget to pick up the poetry anthology I edited, How Can You Say We Are Not Related? (Scurfpea).
