|March 2011, poet Suzanne Sunshower
reading selected poems
at Scotland Library.
Back when newspapers still published people's full addresses in articles, they also sometimes published
poetry. (I think it was considered a family interest thing to do.) Luckily, through my dad, I had a small 'in'
with the Michigan Chronicle and was able to publish a poem there, at age nine. My first byline. My dad always
said, "You don't really know if you want to be a writer, until you've seen your name in print." Well, let's just
say that seeing my first byline made me know it even more.
