Quiet Mountain Essays (QME) was an e-journal that featured women's writing, news, and resources for
women, which flourished from June 2003 to December 31, 2013.  Unfortunately, when the site closed
the pages disappeared as if the journal had never existed.  This was a disservice to the talented writers
and academics who contributed to the journal during its run.  The journal's content can never be
re-created; however, I would like to pay tribute here to its existence.

Important 2018 note and disclaimer: After I relinquished ownership of the popular Quiet
Mountain Essays (QME) brand in 2014, others used it to publish their own thoughts online. What comes
up now under searches for the QME URL are not necessarily works from the original site or writings by
(or representative of) the editor or the original writers.
