"Let Your Voice Be Heard!"
Quiet Mountain Essays (QME) was an e-journal that featured women's writing, news, and resources for women, which flourished from June 2003 to December 31, 2013. Unfortunately, when the site closed the pages disappeared as if the journal had never existed. This was a disservice to the talented writers and academics who contributed to the journal during its run. The journal's content can never be re-created; however, I would like to pay tribute here to its existence.
[QME's original Call for Papers is archived in the Women's Studies Database (Univ. of Maryland). It can be seen here.]
Important note and disclaimer: After I relinquished ownership of the popular Quiet Mountain Essays (QME) brand in 2014, others used the name to publish their own thoughts online. What comes up now under searches for the QME URL are not necessarily works from the original site or writings by (or representative of) the editor or the original writers. Fortunately, I discovered that WebArchive.org has preserved some of the original older QME site pages here. Warning: Be advised that all works captured in this form were copyrighted in the year of their publication and all rights still remain with the authors! Happy reading, and thank you for supporting QME's memory and WebArchive.
